During your consultation we will recommend the best implant type based on your body and cosmetic goals. Breast implants come in different sizes, shapes, and textures, which we select based on your preference. When selecting the best implants for you, we will carefully consider the size, shape, and profile of your implants so you attain your desired appearance. Generally, the most commonly used implants are made from saline or silicone. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved both of these types of implants, but saline and silicone have an age restriction. To receive saline implants, you must be at least 18 years old. For silicone implants, patients must be at least 22 years old. Other options include a form-stable or the gummy bear implant or fat grafting.

The choice to undergo breast enlargement surgery is very personal. If you are considering this surgery, we highly recommend that you do it for yourself. Before undergoing this procedure, you should maintain a healthy lifestyle, have fully matured breasts, or be 18 – 22 years of age or older. If you feel dissatisfied with the shape of your breasts because they appear flat due to aging, nursing, or dramatic weight loss, you may benefit from breast augmentation. It can also help patients who weight train or have a naturally smaller breast size.

SURGICAL TECHNIQUE
Before your surgery, Our providers will discuss the placement, incision technique, and implant size to help you feel confident with your decision. To ensure you remain comfortable throughout the surgery, we use general anesthesia or IV sedation. Next, we creates an incision and places the implant into position. Based on your preference, body type, implant size, and lifestyle, we may select from two different techniques for implant placement. These methods include submuscular or subglandular. A subglandular technique places the breast implants between the breast tissue and the pectoral muscle. A submuscular technique places the implant beneath both the tissue and the pectoral muscle. When determining the best place to insert the implant, it depends on several factors, including the implant size and type. No matter where we place the incision, scarring is usually rare.

WHAT TO EXPECT
At Body Up Medical Spa, we perform surgeries in our private, surgical suite. We can safely administer anesthesia and perform your breast augmentation. At the beginning of your surgery, we makes an incision, inserts the implant, and places it into the surgical pocket. Once your implant is secured within the pocket, we close the incision with skin adhesives or sutures. After the surgery, we take you back to the recovery area and carefully monitor you. Before leaving, patients will receive a medical sports bra to help reduce swelling. Several days after your surgery, the swelling will start to subside, and the breasts will begin to look and feel normal. While individual results vary, most patients can engage in everyday activities within several days; however, we recommend avoiding exercise for a couple of months. This surgery produces beautiful results, which look and feel normal.

Are silicone breast implants safe?
Today’s silicone implants are stronger and more durable than ever. Breast implants are also tested to make sure there are no harmful chemicals or materials in them. Even if a silicone implant ruptures, the gel will stay inside the shell of the implant. Our providers recommends getting an MRI every three years to make sure the silicone implant is not damaged.

Can I breastfeed with implants?
Breast implants won't necessarily interfere with breastfeeding, but results will vary from woman to woman. If you want to nurse after breast augmentation, let our team know at Body Up Medical Spa. We can make sure to place your incisions in areas that don't interfere with breastfeeding.

Can I have my implants removed?
