COMMON REASONS FOR REVISION
When it comes to secondary breast augmentation, patients can experience a variety of issues that require revision or removal. We may also perform breast revision surgery to change the implant size or type. Certain types of conditions could require patients to undergo breast revision surgery, including:
Asymmetry
Bottoming out
Implant size
Capsular contracture
Implant rippling
Implant rupture
Symmastia. If you feel uncomfortable with your implants, breast revision surgery can help you live a better quality of life.
SURGICAL TECHNIQUE
In one of our operating room, we start your breast revision surgery by administering general anesthesia or IV sedation. We will discuss the options during your consultation to select the best type for you. We begins by making an incision, which he selects based on your needs. We may use an inframammary incision, breast lift incision, or a peri-areola incision. Depending on your particular condition or concern, we may remove scar tissue, insert new implants, or adjust the position of your implants. Next, we suture your incisions closed and take you back to the recovery room.
WHAT TO EXPECT
After your surgery and a brief observation period, you can return home to recover. If you traveled out of town, we have an overnight guest suite so you can comfortably rest while we attend to your needs. Please let us know if you'd like to learn more about this option. Once you are back home, the recovery period will vary and will depend on the complexity of your surgery. A revision that requires any type of reconstruction or grafting will have a longer recovery period, which may last up to several months. You should slowly start to see your surgical results once the swelling starts to subside. To ensure proper healing, we will provide detailed aftercare instructions and schedule follow-up appointments.
