SURGICAL TECHNIQUE
Using local anesthesia, we can perform labiaplasty and vaginoplasty in our operating rooms. If the procedure is more complex, you may require general anesthesia. If so, you will need a responsible friend or family member to take you home. During your labiaplasty, our doctors will select from two types of incision techniques. They will discuss both of these incision techniques in detail. The trim technique excises the extra tissue and tightens the remaining skin. The wedge technique cuts away a pie-shaped piece of tissue, removes excess folds from the clitoral hood, and tightens the skin and muscles. If you plan on undergoing both a labiaplasty and vaginoplasty, we will use the wedge techniques so we can tighten the tissue within the vagina.

WHAT TO EXPECT
You will need around 1 – 2 weeks to heal from labiaplasty and vaginoplasty. During this time, you may experience some swelling, but we will provide detailed aftercare instructions to help you heal properly and remain comfortable. To reduce discomfort and swelling, We recommends applying a cold compress or ice pack as needed. After your surgery, you cannot engage in sexual activities or use tampons for at least 4 – 6 weeks. Patients usually notice significant improvements after six weeks with final results occurring about six months after surgery. Generally, the results of your vaginal rejuvenation surgery last for a long time, but weight fluctuations, natural aging, and childbirth may impact longevity.
